Gorgeous Gardens

A glass of wine, a squishy sofa…paradise found

Low House Manor sits above beautiful lawns that sweep down from the house towards the river Swale. Its sweeping lawns of emerald green also sit below the flower filled walled garden, with its alliums, roses and peonies offering a quiet retreat to sit, read and contemplate. Next  to the walled garden, the raised terrace is the perfect place for al fresco dining on a warm summer’s day.

One of the few houses in Yorkshire to boast its own waterfall, watch the dancing prisms of light and listen to the buclic sounds of water trickling over rock or, when the rains come, see this dainty stream transform into a thundering cascade of wild water. But the real magic lies in the private river frontage. Whether you wild swim in the river or just sit on the squishy outdoor sofa, with a glass of wine, toasting marshmallows on the fire, and watching kingfishers skim the water, this is as close to Paradise as it gets.

Breathtaking Location

Wild swim in the Swale or hike in the Dales

They say location is everything and Low House Manor does not disappoint with one of the most beautiful locations in Yorkshire. Sitting proudly above the mighty river Swale and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery the country has to offer, you can hike, wild swim, fish, cycle, and kayak from the house and there is a fabulous gastropub within a mile and a half.

The beautiful village of Reeth is within 4 miles and the market towns of Leyburn and Richmond are both a short drive away. Whether covered in a blanket of snow in the winter, filled with vast swathes of wildflowers in the spring, resplendent with its lush green meadows of summer, or filled with the burnt orange colours of autumn, the majestic and wild beauty of Swaledale will never cease to stir your soul.

Daft About doggies

At Low House Manor we are not just dog friendly, we’re full of puppy love, just ask Dinky, Pixie and Star our little rescue dogs who especially love splashing about in the river, the very cool and comfy Andy Warhol dog bed, and the special doggy treats that they leave for our guests (of the doggy kind…..paws of humans!)

“A simply stunning house, with fabulously stylish interiors and in a setting to die for. With an eye for design and attention to detail mixed with a warmth and generosity of spirit, Cherrie and Paul have created a little slice of heaven. This was by far the best cottage rental we have ever experienced (and there have been many) and we have already booked a return visit. Getting excited already…………”
