Classic architecture and contemporary interiors

working in harmony

An  Effortless Fusion of Georgian Elegance and Bespoke, Vintage and Design-Led Interiors

The elegant and simple lines of the stunning Georgian architecture blend seamlessly with the stylish, sumptuous, and individually curated interiors.

Large sash windows with original Georgian shutters allow the rooms to be flooded with natural light. Wide wooden boards and flagstone floors are given warmth and texture by a gorgeous combination of sheepskin and woollen rugs and reindeer hides. Vintage and antique furniture work in synergy with cool and contemporary pieces. A collection of stunning, original abstract paintings are displayed alongside modernist and quirky pop art. Designed to create both a beautiful visual aesthetic and a place of sublime comfort Low House Manor is the perfect coming together of both style and substance.

Dine

Dine in style in the beautiful formal dining room, perfect for special occasions and celebrations. A stunning 10 ft 18th century Irish linen table is the centre piece of this room, with tall candelabras and an eclectic mix of linen scroll back dining chairs and iconic Eames chairs draped with sheepskins. A gilded French mirror adorns the marble fireplace, and a mix of quirky and scuptural lighting gives an ambience perfect for a decadent dining experience.

The kitchen at Low House Manor is the perfect place to share a glass of wine, good food and lots of laughter in front of a roaring log fire after a long walk in the hills. Make plans for the day ahead gathered around the antique French scrubbed dining table over freshly ground coffee and toasted sourdough from our local artisan baker or reminisce about the day’s adventures with a cup of Yorkshire tea (of course) and one of our baker’s chocolate and pistachio brownies.

Cook

The kitchen at Low House Manor continues the eclectic theme. Hand built and hand painted kitchen units are complemented by oak worktops, an original pantry, an antique Belgian baker’s cupboard and a vintage butcher’s block sourced from the Gers. Upcycled Coca Cola crates have been used as shelves and an old upcycled fire extinguisher provides additional lighting.

A stainless steel induction range cooker makes cooking a breeze. The Siemens integrated dishwasher ensures that clearing away the dishes is neither a challenge nor a chore.

For any aspiring chefs, the kitchen is well equipped with everything required to create a gastronomic masterpiece. Just add a glass of wine and convivial company for the perfect culinary experience.

Relax

Large upholstered linen sofas, a contemporary take on a buttoned back armchair, a quirky Eames rocking chair and a large sheepskin beanbag offer a diverse mix of seating to collapse into after a day hiking in the hills. In the summer, sit by the huge sash windows with a glass of champagne, enjoying the beautiful view down to the river. In winter, snuggle up with a mug of steaming hot chocolate in front of a roaring log fire, surrounded by beautiful and quirky art and objet d’arts.

Bathe

The master bathroom has a gorgeous original cast iron bath, power shower and his and hers sinks, and little apothecary jars filled with vegan and organic hair and bath products. The huge en-suite bathroom has a bath more suited to swimming than bathing, and large fluffy towels to wrap up in after a long, luxurious soak.

Sleep

The beds at Low House Manor are truely special. The Canopy Bedroom has a handmade bed designed by us, and the headboard in the Blue Bedroom was made by an artisan craftsman using reclaimed floorboards from a Lancashire cotton mill. Hypnos and Visprung mattresses are topped with Hungarian goose down toppers, and Hungarian goose down duvets ensure a blissful nights sleep. One bedroom even boasts its own library, filled with books written by one of Yorkshire’s most famous authors Thomas Armstrong, who lived here and wrote all his books from that very room.
